Clash Royale’s Minion Academy season introduces two important deck-building additions and a busy four-week event calendar. Minion Giant is a new flying win condition, while Hero Ice Wizard can trap a push behind a snowman. The season also includes Academy Antics, a competitive 2v2 League, Princess Gambit, Royale Shuffle and a community event.
Minion Academy Event Calendar
Academy Antics runs from September 7 to October 5, 2026. The competitive 2v2 League takes place from September 7–21. Princess Gambit follows from September 21–26, while Royale Shuffle runs September 21 to October 5 and receives a dedicated Challenge from September 28 to October 5.
The Clashroom Community Event is scheduled for September 22–26. Supercell has said that it will test players on biology, physics and history through Clash Royale-themed lessons, but further details are being saved for a later announcement. Check the event tab when it opens rather than relying on guesses about its format or rewards.
How to Unlock Minion Giant
Minion Giant can be unlocked free through the Academy Antics Album Event. He flies, attacks buildings and Crown Towers, and delivers a ranged toxin attack, establishing him as a new win condition rather than a conventional support troop. His cards will not enter normal chests until the following season.
Completing the album awards 1,750 Minion Giant cards in total, plus an emote and Tower Skin. This makes daily Album progress the clearest free route for building the card. Avoid missing battle rewards early in the month, because catching up becomes more dependent on events and the Shop.
Academy Antics Album Tips
Players can earn as many as three Snippets per day through daily battle rewards. Snippets also appear in events and the Shop, and come in Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary rarities. A Snippet already placed in the album becomes a Duplicate.
Four Duplicates can be exchanged for a Unique Snippet, guaranteeing a missing piece. Save exchanges for periods when the collection has enough filled spaces for random Snippets to become inefficient. During the final week, daily reward Snippets are guaranteed to be Unique, giving active players a catch-up route.
The Album Event is available from Arena 3. Any extra Snippets obtained after finishing the album convert into bonus rewards, so completion does not make subsequent drops worthless.
Competitive Events and Modes
The 2v2 League offers one badge for completing its League Road and another for placing in the top 10,000. Agree on complementary decks with a partner instead of bringing two lists that compete for the same role. Reliable defense and clear win conditions matter more than surprising one another with experimental cards, so use a broader Clash Royale event preparation plan before committing resources.
Princess Gambit is a sudden-death Global Tournament with only two Princess Towers and a rotating pool of 40 cards. Cards are capped at Level 11, although Evolution and Hero availability depends on each player’s collection. Royale Shuffle is less predictable, randomly selecting a deck and one of 11 returning modes, so success depends on identifying the win condition quickly.

The best Minion Academy plan is to treat Academy Antics as a daily commitment while preparing separately for competitive modes.
